In January I posted that I wanted to read at least 25 books this year, but the stretch goal is 30. I’m a little behind, but not by too much. Some of the books I’ve read (and the one I’m currently reading) were quite large so I blame that. :)
Progress Report:
1) The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson
2) The Girl Who Played With Fire - Stieg Larsson
3) The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest - Stieg Larsson
4) Choke - Chuck Palahniuk
5) The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
6) The Alchemist - Paolo Coelho
7) Eat, Pray, Love - Elizabeth Gilbert
8) The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows
9 ) The Help - Kathryn Stockett
10) A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini
11) Auntie Mame - Patrick Dennis
12) Tell All - Chuck Palahniuk
13) Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingsolver (the favorite so far. no doubt)
14) A Dog’s Purpose - W. Bruce Cameron
15) Little Bee - Chris Cleave
16) Cutting For Stone - Abraham Verghese
17) The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold
18) Snuff - Chuck Palahniuk
19) The Lacuna - Barbara Kingsolver - currently reading
It’s looking like I mayyyy not meet my 25 book goal but I have done SO well considering I have not read more than probably 3 books in ANY previous year. The Lacuna is quite long and I’m having trouble truly getting into it so I may just start up with another one. I have 4 different books on my Christmas list so maybe I’ll get through 1 or 2 of those before the new year. :)
Regardless, I’m definitely proud of myself and will keep this trend going! I’m looking forward to creating a 2012 book list. Recommendations welcomed and requested!
