Where we spent a long New Years weekend.
A group of 4 couples made a plan that began to materialize months ago. Originally we wanted a last minute all-inclusive to the Caribbean or a low budget cruise out of Charleston. Eventually we decided on a more localized trip to the beach as long as it was a nice house with a hot tub. We just wanted to get out of Raleigh…
And so we landed in North Myrtle Beach of all places. The house met all of our requirements and not only had a hot tub but a heated pool, margarita machine, and every other convenience you could possibly think of for a low LOW price per person. And YOU GUYS. This ended up being one of the most amazing trips with the most perfect weather I could’ve ever imagined for South Carolina in the dead of winter.
We laid out in the sun in our swimsuits, we got in the pool (yes, unheated…brrr!!), we went to the beach New Years Day and put our toes in the water and laid out on the beach. I couldn’t believe it. Not only was it 70 degrees on New Year’s Eve but I had the greatest, laid-back time with 7 of my close friends. It all worked out… I still can’t believe it myself.

The house is 3 blocks from the ocean and it’s within walking distance to a great sports bar, Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, a church, a strip club if that’s your thing, and many other places. There’s also a company that will rent you a golf cart for any length of time, drop off and pick up from your driveway…
