She flies with her own wings...
This weekend… I completed the Krispy Kreme Challenge!!For those that are not aware, this involves running 2.5 miles, scarfing down 12 (yes, ONE DOZEN) doughnuts, then running 2.5 more miles back to the start.  All this must be done in under an hour, sans puking.I had low hopes for myself, seeing as how I have not run one piece of a mile since early December (which was a 5k that I also did not train for haha).  BUT. You guys.  I was so close.  I finished in 1:03:49.  I still can’t believe it!  I don’t think there is any possible way I could’ve finished any faster, other than actually try to “train” to run faster on the first leg.  I did great though, kept a 9:30/mi pace for the first half which is fast for me.  The second leg was rough…after regular speed for about a 1/2 mile I had to try hard to fight down the nausea, trying not to puke, so I would walk fast up hills and sprint on downhills. It is MUCH harder than it sounds, and it does sound hard. I mean think about it.  Literally think about taking down 12 doughnuts while before and after maintaining a better than 10min/mile pace…without throwing up.If that’s not tough enough… my friend Cody completed the whole thing in 46 minutes.  Insanity. But. Well. He’s in the Army Special Forces and can run 5 miles in 33 mintues.
